About A Mother's Prayer A
Mother's Prayer had its beginnings from two desires: a desire for my long-awaited daughter, Anna, from China, and a desire
to help women with unplanned pregnancies choose to rear their child themselves or to place their child for adoption. For a
mother of two preschoolers who is also preparing for a third child, volunteering in a crisis pregnancy center is not currently
feasible. As I thought about ways to alleviate my impatience to bring Anna home and ways to help Sav-a-Life, my love of sewing
and crocheting brought to mind the possibility of making items to give to Sav-a-Life to pass on to their clients who decide
to rear their child. Later, I realized I could sell some of my work so that I could also donate a percentage of my profits
to Bethany, our wonderful adoption agency, for use in providing for their foster homes around the world. All my work is done
with prayers for the children who will receive the items and in honor of my three children: Cara, Rhodes, and Anna. --Kathryn, September 13, 2006
